Binghamton University has hired the first female CEO

Posted December 07, 2018 11:01:24 The University of Melbourne (UofM) has hired a female chief executive, after the university’s board unanimously voted to promote her to the position.

Dr Jill Brown, a PhD candidate at the university, will assume the role in the coming weeks.

“I’m delighted that the university has chosen to take the lead in supporting the promotion of Jill Brown as the first woman to lead a major university,” university president Stephen Wicks said in a statement.

“Jill is well-qualified to lead the university and is a leader in the industry in providing the highest quality education, research and services for all our students and staff.”

Dr Brown has already held senior management roles at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the University at Albany, New York.

Binghamton has also hosted the annual Binghamton International Film Festival and the Binghamston International Music Festival.
