Texas school to add 1,400 jobs in the next five years

KUTV-TV (KUTV)- The Kutztown University of Science and Technology is going to add about 1,100 jobs in its new $4.5 billion science and technology building, a move that will be a boon to the local economy.

The new jobs will be the first of its kind at a Texas institution of higher education, according to university President Dr. Tom Roper.

“The Kutz will be home to a cutting-edge facility for science and engineering, providing a home for our faculty, students, researchers and staff,” Roper said in a statement.

“This is a significant expansion of KUTVs core workforce and the most significant engineering building in the state of Texas.”

The school, founded in 1911 and known as the University of Kansas in honor of its founder, opened its doors in 2021.

The KUTVS building has two wings, with one building and one research and development building.

KUTv is a university with nearly 500 undergraduate, graduate and professional students.

The construction of the new science and research building will begin in 2020, with construction beginning in 2021 and a completion in 2024, said KUT v. s.r.s.

The university plans to hire more than 1,000 employees over the next three years, Roper added.

“We will continue to make the campus a place that’s welcoming to all, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect,” he said.
